Whether you are on a solo trip to Goa or with your family, it’s always better to be keep a few safety instructions in your mind. You don’t need to get paranoid about going about in Goa, but knowing what to do in times of danger can help you in the long run.

If you are wandering in local markets, whether during day or night, beware of pick pockets. Keep your belongings with you at all times and try not to leave them under a strangers care. You also need to be aware of your surroundings so that you can keep on eye on unidentified objects. A trip to Goa is all about fund and you don’t want to find yourself without your belongings during a trip.

If you are on the beach, look for safety warnings. There is always a lifeguard present on the beach. But if there are signs that warn you about the tide, make sure you pay attention to it. Just because you can’t go into the waters does not mean your holiday in Goa is ruined. There are many things you can always do to have a fun day in Goa. Avoid stepping into the water for a swim after sundown. You never know what lurks in the darkness.

Follow all safety precautions if you are taking part in adventure sports. If you have any doubts about the safety methods, ask the guide or a life guard to explain them to you.

If you are a solo traveller, male or female, be vigilant at all times, especially during night. If the place you are visiting is far away from your place of stay, inform your hotel manager or your host where you are headed. Also ask them for any information you can about the place itself.

Always keep in handy the local emergency numbers. You never know when you or someone you know may need it.

Though the locals in Goa are warm people, you should not put all your trust on a stranger. If you are with someone who you have just met, be wary of strange places they may want to take you. If you are in a club, avoid accepting drinks from strangers.

If you have rented a vehicle, make sure all the paper work and documents are in place. There will be random checking on the roads. Make sure you carry your identification with you at all times.
